Many commented on how easy it was to find someone — a digital Robin Hood, if you will — who bought the fight and then streamed it to the masses.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor are getting enormous paydays for their super-fight Saturday night thanks to the massive number of people who shelled out $100 for pay per view.

But it seems there were also quite a few who got away with seeing the bout for free.

After the fight, which Mayweather won, making his professional boxing record a perfect 50-0, "Periscope" began trending on social media. It seems that occurred because so many used the streaming app and then were bragging about seeing the entire tilt, which went 10 rounds, for free.

Many commented on how easy it was to find someone — a digital Robin Hood, as it were — who bought the fight and then streamed it to the masses.

Prior to the match, Showtime obtained a preliminary injunction from a federal court in California to target known sites that previously posted illegal broadcast paid-for sports coverage.

Social media users on Saturday night said they just looked for a individual user who was showing the fight over their app.
