Piracy Control on Far Cry 5 Could Impact Performance

Ubisoft has had a piracy problem for most of its productions so they seem to be taking a serious note of Far Cry 5 before releasing it. This time Ubisoft is putting Denuvo anti-tamper piracy protection on Far Cry 5 before releasing it but they are putting an extra layer of protection on top of it that may impact performance.

Denuvo version 4.8 has been cracked leaving most of the games by Ubisoft in the open so it is understandable that Ubisoft would want something extra to protect its property but at the cost of performance?

Assassins Creed Origins uses VMProtect as a second layer for protection and that has served it well and up till now, it has endured many hacking attempts. The company plans for the same with Far Cry 5.

Denuvo has some problems with its servers causing a great many games to encounter issues. It causes frame rate drops, lags, and other issues in for many users. Even the most high-end PCs sometime struggle with Denovo and now that there is another layer of protection on top of it, what will the impact be?

Denuvo is not the most viable solution as many games including WARHAMMER 2 got cracked in just a few hours.

Far Cry 5 is a much-anticipated game and the struggle that Ubisoft is putting up to protect its property may not pay off as they expect it to.

Denuvo protection is itself in a complicated situation where it faces many issues. The cracking of games in a few hours of their release puts Denuvo in a tough position.

Most of the Developers remove the Protection if it gets cracked, but Denuvo seems to add updates to counter that which also brings more complications for its users.

All in all, for Far Cry gamers this protection may sound bit intimidating but they all know this will soon be cracked.

Far Cry 5 is scheduled to be released in March 2018 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
