Admin changes
Today we say goodbye to Doubt who has decided to step down from his position as administrator. We thank him for the time he spent helping and improving PTP.
To help the rest of the administrator team take over Doubt's duties, we have promoted ChunkyLover53. Most of you should know Chunks by now. He's been around for a very long time, and we're excited to have him as an administrator. Please give him a warm welcome.

IMDb API Update
As many of you noticed, we had quite a bit of missing information on our movie pages. This was due to IMDb putting their API behind a pay-wall causing all scraping to return empty values, erasing the data we had cached on site.

We've been able to remedy this, for the most part, by resorting to page scraping. There are a few things still missing, but we'll be working on them and everything should be back to normal soon.
A big thank you to Chameleon for helping out with this!

Oscar Night is hastily approaching, and to get you in the mood, we've organized a few things.

A Night to Remember - The Celebration of Movies
First of all is a return of the monthly upload contest. This is just a small contest (ends on March 4th - Oscar night) but you can expect the regular (with few exciting changes though!) format to return in March and going forward.
This special contest is all about awards. We've curated several PTP collections for the contest, and all movies in these collections (of course including the ones we don't have on site yet) are eligible for the contest. Oscar Betting Pool
As per the tradition, codebeard has once again organized an Oscar betting pool contest. Staff has contributed with a few (official) prizes and a long list of kind users have supplemented them. Entries submitted up to Sunday the 25th will receive DOUBLE WINNINGS! so get your entry submitted sooner rather than later.

Oscar Night in #drive-in
This year, we've also teamed up with the guys and girls running the #drive-in channel on our IRC network. For those of you that don't know, #drive-in is an (unofficial) film club on IRC where users meet and watch movies in synchronicity.
For Oscar Night, #drive-in will meet up and watch the Oscar show together and YOU are invited, too! Before the Oscar show begins, there's even a fun, Oscar-inspired quiz! For more information, see Oscars 2018 - 90th Academy Awards.
