Welcome Alamak!

PTP is proud to welcome our newest Developer: Alamak!

He has already provided invaluable assistance during the last DDoS attack, and is working behind the scenes on some features I think you guys will love. We're ecstatic to have him as part of our team, and hope you'll join in with us to welcome him to the family!

----------------------

With the down time caused by the DDoS (and my vacation a week before that started) our birthday freeleech has gone on for a bit longer than we had initially planned . . . But let's finish it off with a bang!

Our staff works incredibly hard. They're some of the best in the business, and I feel honored to work with each and every one of them. It's about time we had them share some great picks.

Please note: All birthday freeleech will expire in about one week from this post.

Frank Herbert's Dune [2000]

The first thing I ever uploaded to PTP, and one of my favorite movies/miniseries. Dune hails from the golden age of the SciFi channel. It is from before they were SyFy, before 50% of shows involved ghosts, before Stargate ended, before Caprica took a dump on everything BSG established, and before the biggest thing on the channel all year involved sharks and tornadoes. Dune is a nearly 6 hour miniseries that few sci-fi shows have bested, and even fewer sci-fi book series, just don't read the trash Herbert's son wrote. (Sidestory: When Dune first aired on TV I attempted to recorded it on VHS. When I watched it I got 5/6 hours through the tape before the tape switched over to some weekly scheduled recording. My pre-teen self was devastated because Dune wasn't scheduled to rerun for weeks. Ended up being one of the first DVDs I ever bought.)
Memento [2000]

I love the way this movie makes you spend the next few hours trying to comprehend everything that just happened! Mindfuck
Super Troopers [2001]

Car Ram-rod here. Just popped some Viagras and I'm issuing this freeleech with a raging, mega-huge boner. Ain't so funny meow is it? Rather than tell you about the second time I got crabs, I'll buy ya'll a large Farva and maybe tell ya where the wild goose goes. Let's chug some syrup, eat some snozzberries, and go on this crazy ride together. You boys like Mexico?!?!
Lymelife [2008]

Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo AKA The Good, the Bad and the Ugly [1966]

Leone cares not at all about the practical or the plausible, and builds his great film on the rubbish of Western movie cliches, using style to elevate dreck into art. This is the third in the Dollars Trilogy with the Man With No Name serving yet another brilliant performance as Blondie.
Serenity [2005]

When Josh Whedon developed the doomed TV series "Firefly", he created a masterpiece. Unfortunately, the mindless powers that be cancelled this one-of-a-kind show, to the utter frustration and anger of thousands and thousands of devotees. Enough noise was made that the still dumb as a rock producers (while unrelenting in keeping the show cancelled), allowed a film designed to wrap up many of the issues left unresolved. The result was "Serenity". While a sop thrown to the masses of Firefly lovers, it was still wonderful to see the much loved characters and unique cultural and language once again. If you've not seen the TV series and "Serenity", this is a must see adventure. You won't be able to resist becoming enthralled.
Children of Dune [2003]

Fae has been too busy IRL lately, so I'm usurping this for my own means.
Nobody's Fool [1994]

Paul Newman, Bruce Willis, two Oscars nominations ‒ a nice small town movie.
El Laberinto Del Fauno AKA Pan's Labyrinth [2006]

I really enjoyed this masterpiece
Night of the Comet [1984]

it hurts when I pee, not the actual pee, it's mostly the person who dick punches me for peeing on them
Chicago [2002]

Fantastic movie. Even those who don't like musicals may enjoy this -- it's all about sex, murder, and showmanship. What's not to like? Highly recommended.
