rg's note: I'd forgotten how much I liked Stewart Huff until a statement by ilyathereis reminded me. Stewart Huff's name would probably not be found on a list of what most people think of as their favorite comedians. But I think perhaps he should be.

It had been many years since I'd listened to him but after I was reminded of him, I listened once again to all 4 of his albums that we have on-site.

Here's a brief review that I wrote back in 2017, "I like intelligent comedy; especially comedy that is satirical in nature and/or that makes you think.

After listening to Stewart's 2017 album entitled God Hates Ann, the phrase, "Well..., he shouldn't have done that!" may have new meaning for you and you may never think of the grocery chain Piggly Wiggly with a straight face again. 

Though I was raised by a family with very strong Christian Fundamentalist leanings, I've always had a curious mind and a keen interest in the sciences. I not only want to know the Five Ws of everything but also the How.

If this album doesn't light a spark of curiosity in your mind, then Stewart's friend Emily is right! 'There is no hope for humanity.' Stewart and I, however, think there may be hope for humanity after all.

Yes, this and other of Stewart's albums throw some facts at you and tries to make you think but it also makes you laugh because everyone knows, "Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down."



Stewart was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky, and grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has been performing comedy for over 20 years, beginning when he decided to drop out of college to become a writer. Currently touring theatres, comedy clubs, and anything in between across the country, Huff reaches past the norm for his genuine — and genuinely unexpected — comedy. His knack for embracing the foibles of humanity and his refreshing originality make him as likable as he is hilarious. A storyteller at heart, Huff continues to amaze with his clever material and personal wit.

Huff has performed in comedy clubs nationally and internationally, including the Improv in Los Angeles and New York, the Punchline in Atlanta, and the Funny Bone in Omaha, as well as countless others.

A finalist in the 2006 Boston Comedy Festival, Huff was also invited to perform in the HBO Las Vegas Festival. Stewart was also the 2016 Critics Choice of the Best Comedy at the Orlando Fringe Festival.

At this writing, he lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his girlfriend. There he drops off the various items he collects while on the road, including an antique barber chair, countless vintage photographs, and an extensive collection of LPs.

He was also featured in the documentary Road Comics: Big Work on Small Stages, which was released in Fall 2012.
