Gwen and Gavin want musical kids

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale plan to force their children to play the piano.

The famous pair of musicians are apparently unimpressed with their three sons' attachment to technological devices.

The Bush frontman, 48, has told People of their plans to encourage Kingston, eight, Zuma, six, and Apollo, nine months, to instead begin to follow in their musical footsteps.

'We weren't those people who were like, 'We've been playing Mozart to the womb since the day we found out!' Gavin clarified.

He and his wife both have successful careers in the music industry, with 44-year-old Gwen heading up hit rock band No Doubt. It would make sense for their offspring to pick up some of those genetics but it seems popular technology is taking preference at this point.

'We're about to start forcing the piano ' I hope,' Gavin revealed. 'Right now, I just want them to stop playing on the iPad!'

The married couple continues to dominate music and have spent this season teaching hopefuls on The Voice together to prove it. Gwen is a judge on the talent show.

"It was amazing fun. I really enjoyed it," Gavin explained when asked what it was like mentoring Gwen's team. 

He also discussed the way their hectic lifestyles often make it difficult to properly debrief after busy days. Working together on the same TV show seems to have brought the married couple of 12 years closer together.

'Normally, we're by ourselves in these crazy, adrenalized situations, like being on TV or performing in front of the camera. 

So, I'm used to calling her afterward and telling her all about it, saying either 'That was so fun, or so weird, or I'm paranoid I was bad.' But with this, I could just walk into her dressing room and talk to her," gushed Gavin. 

Their working quarters were not entirely too close for comfort, however. The rocker lamented that it was 'a bit unromantic' that he and Gwen did not get to share a dressing room.

Revealing his trick to helping his wife's concentration stay on track, he also told the publication: "I just did my best not to interrupt her too much.'
